Biography
At Environmental Building Strategies, our integrated and experienced approach to green building adapts your building or development project to a rapidly changing market. Buildings designed and managed sustainably provide better financial returns and improve occupant conditions; all the while they use less energy, produce less waste, and reduce their carbon footprint. Our clients are building owners, property managers, developers and architects who want a better performing building.
Our approach is simple: We assess buildings, identify opportunity areas and develop strategies to meet our client’s sustainability goals. By taking an integrated approach to consulting and project management, we collaborate with everyone throughout the design and construction process to provide the most financially effective and environmentally responsible solutions for our clients. As LEED Accredited Professionals, Sustainable Building Advisors, Certified Green Building Professionals, Certified GreenPoint Raters, and RESNET Certified HERS Raters, we have expertise in both new and existing Commercial and Residential real estate.
Since 2008 our all LEED AP staff with diverse backgrounds and expertise ranging from economics and real estate to energy physics and engineers, has been working hard to make LEED EDGE a reality. Bootstrapping their way into the Green Building scene, Ryan and Matt saw areas of the current “best practices” that needed improvement. Lawrence Chaw, a self proclaimed excel expert, began developing two tools which would eventually become EBS’ differentiation. One is LEED EDGE – the other has yet to be released publicly but is a sustainability financial analysis modeling software that uses Solver based regression analyses to demonstrate optimized Discounted Cash Flows (DCF) using owner-defined parameters. We call it SFIA – Sustainability Financial Impact Analysis – learn more here!
