These Regional Priority Credits are more important with respect to each project because they address specific environmental issues relevant to the surrounding area. You can earn up to four additional credits per project in the Regional Priority section.

The average LEED project receives Requests for Information for about half the credits they submit. The users from the other 3 buildings would use the gym both in the morning as well as at lunch which presented a problem for modeling water usage. In 10 minutes the EDGE modeled water usage of the building by incorporating the transients building gym users (who use faucets and showers) from the other 3 buildings as well as the main building occupants. In short we were able to quickly test drive strategies and found that replacing the 5 shower heads from 2.5 GPM to Low-Flow showerheads would achieve a water reduction of over 35%. The cost to do this – under $100. The project received 7 points for this changeout (5 for the credit – 1 Exemplary & 1 Regional Priority – all of which instantly showed up in the EDGE Overview Page)!!! You can see above how the inputs from the Water Efficiency Prerequisite & Credit auto generate compliance and notify the user that he/she will achieve the Prerequisite, receive 11 points for the credit, do not get credit for the Exemplary Performance portion, and double dip into SS Credit 1 – Option 2 – Path 10 for not only a point but an additional point for Exemplary Performance in that category.

In the background a running total is waiting – currently at 28, when this project hits 40 the entire sheet turns Green, 50 it turns Silver, 60 it turns Gold and Platinum… you’ll have to find out for yourself!
